Why Sell at the Lambertville Farmers Market?
1. We have strong local demand.
Lambertville is a walkable town of 4,200 people, with most residents living within a 15-minute walk of the farmers market and 55% of households making over $100,000 per year.
In a recent survey of 300+ local residents, 96% said they would shop at a farmers market located in town. Here’s what a few of them had to say:
“We LOVE this idea and would absolutely visit weekly!”
“I have been a grower/vendor, market board member, and market musician over the past 20 years. As a new resident, I would love to see a farmers market in my new home!”
“We are surrounded by incredible small farmers and producers. We should celebrate our Garden State status with a lively, bountiful and delicious market.”
2. We’re a regional destination.
Named by USA Today as one of the 10 Best Small Towns in the Northeast, Lambertville is a regional tourist destination for arts and antiquing, food and foliage, and community events throughout the year like Shad Fest in the spring, PrideFest in the summer, and a spooky Halloween block party in the fall.
While the Lambertville Farmers Market is committed first and foremost to providing fresh produce and farm products to locals, regular tourist foot traffic is an ideal opportunity for vendors to include value-added products, prepared food, and beverages at their stall as well.
3. We have the right team.
Our volunteer planning team brings together a mix of experience and enthusiasm: economic development expertise, farming know-how, public space design, nonprofit management, storytelling, and—importantly—a deep personal love of farmers markets.
From the beginning, the effort has also had the full support of the Lambertville Mayor Andrew Nowick.
Together, we’ve been focused on building something sustainable and well-organized, from establishing a clear management structure to learning from successful markets in nearby towns.
